The City of Austin provides very few resources for residents to save their neighborhoods for enjoyment by future generations. One exception is the local historic districts (LHDs) program. LHDs can provide the tools, including design standards to preserve the neighborhood’s vibrant past and present character in the additions, remodels, and new structures that are part of any dynamic, growing community.
